There
are of course many beaches to visit in the area: however
these are the ones we have enjoyed the pleasure of:
|
La
Zenia - Just off Villamartin roundabout
For closeness to the villa this beach is ideal, however
it is quite small and gets extremely busy in the summer
months.
Alicante - (40 minutes)
The Playa del Postiguet is an excellent beach and is a short
walk from the city centre. There are other good beaches
located a short bus ride away - Albuferata which is a series
of delightful coves and San Juan which has excellent facilities.
Cabo Roig - (10 minutess)
Cabo Roig has five excellent beaches all just a few minutes
by car. Cala Caleta, Cala Bosque are blue flag beaches and
are extremely well kept and in easy distance.
Calblanque - (40 minutess)
Calblanque is a Protected Natural Area & Nature Reserve
made up of wonderful gold sandy beaches, sandbanks, cliff
tops and salt flats.
Guardamar
- (20 minutes)
A long beach backed by a large expanse of sand dunes
covered with pines and eucalyptus, excellent for beach
walks. There are also numerous cafes and restaurants
nearby. Look out for fantastic sand sculptures. |

Puerto
de Mazarron - the bay is enclosed by a mountain range
which gives Mazzron a 'micro-climate' which invariably results
in better weather than the rest of Spain. The coastline
has many kilometres of fine Blue Flag sandy beaches and
safe bathing. However the beaches in this area are best
avoided during the busy season (July - August) as they become
extremely crowded.
In addition there are many excellent beaches north of Benidorm
for example:
- Gandia
- Cabo de la Nao
- Cap de la Nau
